"A lot of people would not like this album. It has a prevailing sense of "sameness" throughout. The riffs are all very low, bass-oriented (though still with a heavy fuzztone). The vocals are, and it's been said before, like a sarcastically diabolic Jim Morrison. BUT, this album transports you to a place...it transports you to some New Orleans all-night diner between the Morgue and the Funeral Home, where you sit with the Embalmer and eat crawfish (live or dead, your choice) while some long-dead bluesman from the nearby cemetery works on some rock 'n roll music (he is trying to update his sound). This really DOES sound like what morticians would listen to while they work.....or relax. It is very bluesy, but not to the point of being annoyingly "oh, listen to me, I'm a BLUES artist playing the BLUES!"(you know the type!). It is actually more in a "rock" vein, though it is hard to simply classify it as such. There are sinister parts as well as endearingly humorous parts...the whole thing is presented rather wittily. Eerie Von obviously made this to please himself and his fiends, and that ain't really your "mainstream" audience! This is a pretty lengthy album, and it may be far too low-key for many listeners, but if you are intrigued by the scenario above, you may just appreciate this."
