Scots born composer and lyricist recorded albums in the '70s and '80s as well as writing for Lionel Bart, Joe Brown, Micky Dolenz, Harry Nilsson, Annie Ross, Sandie Shaw, Chris Spedding and Cliff Richard among others. He met Genesis guitarist Mike Rutherford in 1985, and began a long term writing collaboration. He introduced Paul Carrack to the embryonic Mike & The Mechanics. As writer and musician, he featured on six of their studio albums, wrote their first hit single "Silent Running", and the international success, "The Living Years". Over the years, BA has accumulated more than 70 Silver, Gold, and Platinum record awards. This 20 track Platinum Collection consists of the best from the Warner/Elektra music archives. 2005.
