CD Reviews

"THE BOMB"
Gregory Davis | New York, NY USA | 03/12/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album is truly an advance back to the original funk with a little future flavor! Eddie "Maggot Brain" Hazel drops with Bootsy on if 6 were 9. This might be my favorite from the funk mob. The whole album has a kind of eerie dark ambient yet Funkadelic diversity. I cant stop listening to it. Fuzzy would have fit nicely on this one, but he did counter with his orignal "P" album, which only had 3 good songs that should have been on the funkcronimcon album, it has the same flavor."

"the bomb funk in 3000, this is the album tapofom should have been if you love funk then get this the first cut under the influence has george clinton with herbie hancock, and bootsy collins what a treat a jazzy tune, there is a tame version of cosmic slop and yes gary shider sings on there so funkadelic fans don't worry, if 6 was 9 was calmly remade by bootsy, like i said funk in the year 3000, freaks has george, bootsy, mudbone, gary shider, and bernie worrell, blackbyrd has some solo joints on here as well, tell the world has sly stone, bobby bryd, maceo, bootsy and godmamma man this is so funky, sax machine has bobby brrd, bootsy, and maceo reliving their james brown days, the winners are pray my soul done by eddie hazel you hear this and you will think how far eddie could have gone if he were still here, the next one is orbitron attack which has a long guitar solo by eddie, man edddie in that song proved he is the king of funk, and heavy metal i felt you man they never wanted to hear you. rest in p."
