"Clearly influenced by the mesmerizing aspects of early DARKTHRONE, but songs are denser, involving more variety in their dissonant, cycling riffs and structure. Previous album Battle's Clarion had more of a symphonic feel at times, though still way more angular than other classically-influenced black metal bands. Here, that melody is all but gone, replaced with a constantly shifting, spiky experience that both holds your attention enough to wait for the next riff and still never allows you to really get swept away in the movement of any one particular song. 3.5/5."
