A Creative Gem From AWB
06/11/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"When I bought this album, I already had a gut feeling that I would be listening to something special. Well that's exactly what I expected upon hearing it. From the sweeping Overture to the closing Digging Deeper finale, the musical scope of this album is something that the band themselves must've been waiting for a good while to do. There are some familiar funky, self-conscious tunes like Love Your Life and the title track as well as some intimate, soulful laments such as A Love Of Your Own and Would You Stay. There's even an intense Latin-flavored track in Queen Of My Soul that turns out to be a real treat for genuine music lovers. I honestly don't think the level of inspired playing that the band had throughout this album can be found on any of their other releases, even the ones that are pretty decent in their own right. This one's almost surely a keeper and a must-have for AWB followers."
No fool for old school!

"that's o.k., give this classic just 2 minutes of your time& you're hooked. every song on this jewel is timeless and can fit into almost any venue.if you like horns(i.e. tower of power/e.w.f.)and miss the magic of harmonizing winds, this is a treat!don't be mislead, it's not just a instrument fest, these boys can "sang"! there are hints of style that resembles "silk degrees" by boz scaggs! 'nuff said, check it out .this one's a no brainer!"
One word...TIMELESS

"This is one of the only albums in my collection that I listen to from start to finish every time I listen to it. Soul Searching is one of those albums that appeals to everyone, no matter what style you like. It's mellow R&B, funk, rock, all ready for listening. A must have for anyone's collection."
