Atomic Rooster - 'BBC Radio 1 In Concert' (Windsong)
Mike Reed | USA | 11/14/2005
(2 out of 5 stars)
"A BBC show that was recorded in 1972.For Rooster die-hards only.I've mentioned in another Atomic Rooster CD review that vocalist Chris Farlow simply does not belong in this band, not by a long shot. The best thing this disc has going for it is the good sound mix,I'll give it that much. Two cuts that were sort of decent to check out were "Breakthrough" and "Stand By Me"(are they kidding with this one?).From here on out,PLEASE let Ben E.King do the honor. As I checked out the line-up,I saw Vincent Crane(R.I.P.)-keyboards&organ,Steve Bolton-guitar,Chris Harlow-vocals and Rick Parnell-drums.This is Atomic Rooster in name ONLY,certainly not by spirit, vibe or heart.I encourage you to check out the two live Rooster titles on Angel Air Records,'Live At The Marquee,1980' and 'Live And Raw 1970-71'(see my reviews of both). Those two are great!"
