CD Reviews

Soulstirring vibrations
flowersunrise | Manitou Spgs,, Colorado United States | 09/07/2000

"I bought this for a friend last christmas and she left it at my house the night we exchanged gifts. I haven't been able to part with it yet(it has been almost a year). my boyfriend and i listen to it almost at least once a day. i read the first review and was most pleased to find that someone else was as moved as i am by the vibrations of this music. it is uplifting and extremely pleasing to the soul. burning really good jasmine incense while listening to this cd makes it an even more incredible experience. (i am buying my friend another copy.)"

"I never knew that the bhajans that I grew up with could sound even more beatiful than when I learned them. This CD is entrancing; I took it with me when I was hiking in Oregon to help clear my mind and meditate and it was just what I needed. I have played it nearly every day that I've owned it, so that should be a testament to the talent of these artists."

"i received this album, in a circuitous fashion, from one of my spiritual and musical gurus. i was hooked 15 seconds into the opening track, and still am. a superb fusion of hypnotic trance and ethnic traditional sound (instruments include samples and keyboards to indian vox, santur, sitar, shakuhachi(?) to violin and flutes... the vocals, especially female, are haunting at times. this whole album flows. i find it eminently suitable for driving, smoking, meditating... grooving. i also dig the ramifications of the name and title (nirvana/ shiva's dance of creation-obliteration). truly pleasing vibrations, in my (and a few of my friends) humble opinion."
