"Astral as about as unknown as it gets. I only discovered by twisted coincedence: the titular song was a sample on my MP3 player. "Orchids", the song, was TERRIBLE, but nonetheless I tried out their CD at a store once and quickly fell in love with the great instrumentals.



The guitar is the chief highlight of Astral. "Forbidden Kiss" and "Last Lights", both definitively the best tracks on here, feature equally classic melodies. "Orchids", meaning the record, doesn't have a very powerful back-beat, just a tempo set by the guitar, and except for in "Turn Me Around" the percussionist is barely heard. This is rock n' roll, but too poppy for the tastes of hardcore rockers.



Each song on this album is clearly a medium for great effort on Astral's part, and so I would advise that you purchase the entire record instead of merely the MP3s.
