A bit of a gem

"I like this album, which surprises me, as I'm not a big kmfdm fan. Ashtray Head (which I think, but don't quote me is a pseudonym of Cubanate/Cyber-Tec singer Marc Heal) is a harsh dance industrial project that's VERY similar to some of KMFDM's less guitar driven work. I came across this one in a clearance bin and picked it up as it's an offering from Invisible Records, home of some of experimental and/or industrial music's finest moments. This doesn't quite rank as one of those finest moments, but hey, it's a pretty tastey treat. It has a variety and consistency lacking in some of KMFDM's albums, and has a definite helping of fun loving smarminess that sets it apart from a lot of techno/dance projects that are too cold to sustain interest. (Frontline Assembly, anyone?) Blare "Home Movies" and see if it doesn't make you giggle like a schoolgirl. If you're in the mood for a good industrial album, have already picked through KMFDM's best moments, and found Frontline Assembly's latest boring, by all means check this one out."
