CD Reviews

On The Ascent
Adam Gould | Chester, Cheshire United Kingdom | 08/01/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Originally released in 1997, this proto-trance anthem has finally resurfaced to receive some long overdue recognition. A brainchild of the Space Brothers, virtually household names in the UK and also the people behind such pseudonyms as Lustral, Chakra, Klymax and Ultra High, the Bros. have prided themselves upon producing vocal trance anthems of the highest caliber. Someone fits the bill perfectly, and it could even be suggested that this is their finest release to date (other than the anthemic "Legacy"). Although remixes from big hitters Binary Finary plus dutch remixers the Thrilseekers prove more than adequate, it remains down to the breathtaking original to blow the roof off any club."
The Standard
Frank Black | Singapore | 07/30/2002
(3 out of 5 stars)

"A tough standard to topple! I'm refering to the Original Vocal Mix. Vocal trance rarely gets as good as this. This is the standard you will set vocal trance against - now and again! It's got all the elements many dance fiends love - long instrumental bits, melody that's drenched with good vibes, vocals - and the essential part of the 12-inch - the climax, as you know...On a revealing sound system, repeated listens would reveal new details within this dense production. I give my star rating - because the Original Vocal Mix might just be the one reason to buy this! Oh, you'll find that Oakenfold had used Someone on more than one of his mix cds - though I have to lament that his exclusive Slacker & Original mix cannot be found outside of Tranceport."
