"When I first heard "E Minor Reel" on the radio I was hooked on Nollaig Casey's fiddling and spent some time hunting down this disc (it's not an easy disc to find, and amazon.com impressed me by having it in stock). Casey is a prize-winning Irish fiddler with a polished style that is apparently partly the result of some classical violin training. I'd describe her as sounding like a cross between Kevin Burke (Bothy Band) and Alasdair Fraser, the Scottish fiddler. Artie McGlynn is a former rock guitarist who's turned to Irish folk and has played with a number of well-known bands. The rock influence is still apparent in his playing. Backed by Donnal Lunny, Christy Moore and others, Casey and McGlynn produce a set of traditional tunes with a modern feel. Arrangements range from traditional fiddle/acoustic guitar/bouzouki/bodhran instrumentation to reels flatpicked by Artie on a Fender Telecaster & backed by electric keyboards! They never get too far away f! rom the traditional roots of the music, though. I'd highly recommend this CD to any fan of Irish instrumental folk who isn't too much of a purist to appreciate a touch of innovation."
Great CD. One of my best buys

"I will search for more music by Arty McGlynn and Nollaig Casey. It is difficult to get past the first track "The working man", I play it over and over (the other tracks are great too). Thank you for the hours of enjoyment, especially riding down the road where I can crank it up!"
