"I bought the vinyl disk back in the mid-'80's. I had spent some time in Japan and on my return to the US made an effort to seek out Japanese jazz, New Age, Fusion sounds that I had heard. Apsaras was new to me. I bought it without any knowledge of what I was to hear.



The sounds, the rhythms, the melodies were unlike anything I had heard before in the World Music genre. The time signatures were unusual but very energetic and soothing all at once.



It got put away for many years once CD's became dominant, but somewhere along the way I managed to find a digital download of the album, and consider myself very fortunate to have done so. This music endures. It is as fresh and expressive as when I heard it early on. To my knowledge, it is the only album the group released. Anyone know different? It is perhaps what makes this album so special; it is one of a brand and one of a kind."
