CD Reviews

Amazing
Kevin A. Nilsson | Ohio | 01/31/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"If you are a fan of classical, metal, or rock this cd is a must get! It is better than their first 2 albums, and contains only 3 cover songs this time around. The remaining songs are all originals and are truly something to hear. Apocalyptica proves it can play harder than some of the hardest metal bands, yet have the clarity and softness of some great classical works. A definite must hear!"
Getting better and better

"Each Apocalyptica CD is better than the last one. This one is the best of all. Now that they have started doing mostly their own tunes, they can do music that works better for an instrumental group. The songs are all good, including their 3 cover songs."
Apocalyptica keeps getting better and better...

"Apocalyptica is definitely one of the most revolutionary bands I've had the pleasure to listen to. They show us that heavy metal and classical music can live together.
I'm a huge fan of Apocalyptica's previous work. When I first listened to their version of The Unforgiven, I was totally blown away by the feeling of the song. Later, i bought both of their CDs, and when I found out about their new record, I bought it immediately. And this is definitely their best work so far. They show some amazing sonwriting, but adding only 3 cover songs, and all of them great. I loved The Hall of the Mountain King and Until It Sleeps. Fight Fire with Fire was good, but it could've been better.
Some of their own stuff is amazing, songs like Path and Hope make you think that Cellos were made to play Heavy Metal.
I think this is an amazing album, which both, heavy metal and classical music fans, will enjoy. I highly recommend it."
