CD ReviewsA discover of the best guitar writing Maria Luiza Corker | Brazil | 04/21/2001 (5 out of 5 stars) "I bought this CD "Anthology of Guitar music" played by Kurt Schneeweiss with the main interest to hear a new guitar piece by the great Brazilian contemporary master, MARLOS NOBRE.The work is entitled "Reminiscencias opus 83" for guitar and was a strong revelation to me. Indeed this is the best guitar writing I had hear in recent years by a contemporary composer. Marlos Nobre keeps alive the great tradition of guitar music from his country, recreating from those strong sources a strong contemporary and new language for the guitar. In this CD there are also interesting performances of such masters like Albeniz, Villa-Lobos and Tarrega but the pieces are very well known and too much recorded. "Reminiscences" by Marlos Nobre is a favourite new piece for guitar and I hope that guitarrists all over the world would perform and record this new masterpiece."
