"Having heard that Annie Barker was working with Robin Guthrie on this record had me anticipating this release for quite some time. Once I heard an early version of the track 'Amphetamine Dream', I knew it would truly be something special. The album ebbs and flows through layering streams of blissful moments...Annie has a lyrically stunning way with her words...and changes in chord and temperament leave the listener both surprised and curious through the duration of each track...

a beautiful 1st album....can't wait for a second!"

"Grand, shimmering, deeply emotional and sensual; "Mountains and Tumult" resonates with Annie Barker's soaring vocals and the lives, loves, and world around her.

Robin Guthrie's lushly layered production perfectly complements Annie's heartfelt songs and lyrics. The emotional range of the songs are amazing. I especially love the blissed-out longing of "Kissed Me," warm glow of "Beautiful Life," and dreamy elegance of "Amphetamine Dream."

A stunning debut from the lovely Annie Barker and I cannot wait for more!"
