CD ReviewsBritish Songbird! charron_r | Gatineau (Québec) Canada | 02/10/2002 (4 out of 5 stars) "Before buying this cd, the only song I ever heard by Anne Shelton was "I'll walk alone" with bandleader Ambrose. Her voice intrigued me. She sounded a bit like Kate Smith but in a lower range. This cd is good with great remastering. Her voice is admirable on all the tracks even if I admit not liking all the songs. My favorites include: "Oh! My Darling", "Tonight I Kissed You", "San Fernando Valley", "Ev'rything I Love" and " The Wedding Of Lilli Marlene". Now I know why she was in direct competition with Vera Lynn but in my opinion Anne outclasses her by a long shot.
