A Must Have CD From A New And Exciting Duo

"I recently came across this CD quite by accident as a friend of mine had it. When I heard it my whole life changed! This album is definately a breath of fresh air in the monotonous world of pop music. The songs flow so smoothly and elegantly that one becomes washed up in them. There is definately no other act in the world of pop music that sounds in any way like the duo of Anne Donohue and Rich Dart. She is probably the best singer I have heard in a long while and his playing is incredibly unique in style. This is definately a must have album for anyone who considers themselves music lovers. I highly reccomend it and am looking forward to more from this incredible duo."

"The duo of Anne Donohue and Rich Dart are the greatest thing to happen to music since it began. These two are so incredibly talented! The songs on this CD are the best ones I have heard in a long time! The sounds on the album make the songs even better. The lyrics alone will send shivers up your spine (in a good way). The percussion playing can only be described as virtuoso playing. These two are just great and I encourage anyone who is a fan of music to get this CD right away."

""Anne Donohue & Rich Dart." Self-titled CD. Wish it were longer! All original stuff and a nice selection of "up tunes" and comtemplative stuff. Anne Donohue's vocals are very clean and fluid, evocative, sometimes gutsy. Percussion by Rich Dart is cool - not your usual background accompaniment. Nice clean mixing job, too. No knok-off here - fresh stuff."

"The debut CD from the duo of Anne Donohue and Rich Dart is simply awesome. This CD captures the heart and soul of the duo. I have seen these two play on several occassions and have sat mesmorized by the amount of energy and sound created by just two people. When I got the CD I was weary that the same energy and sound that I had experienced from their performance would not be duplicated in recorded form. I was incredibly happy to find that this album brings that same fiery energy and massive sound that I witnessed at their shows. I reccomend this album to everyone who can get it. Way to go guys!"

Half Way To A Promising Career

"I am a professional drummer and I was told by a friend about this CD. They told me if anyone would enjoy it, I would, due to the percussionist on the album, Rich Dart. I purchased it and found the percussion to be outstanding! This guy is really great. However, whoever mixed the album needs to know what percussion is suppossed to sound like. It is a shame because the percussion tracks are the best part of the album. The singer is OK. Her voice tends to sound thin and weak at times, again, a flaw with the mix. Her guitar playing is heavy in rhythm but not much else. I highly doubt that Anne Donohue on her own (without the backing percussion of Rich Dart) would be an exciting musical prescence. The percussion is what is holding this album together. The songs are above average but not really anything super special. I hope that in the future, this duo leans more towards the talents of Rich Dart as a percussionist. He really makes the album worthwhile. I guess as a review I would have to say that if you are a drummer, percussionist or are just plain into drums and percussion, you should without a doubt own this CD. If you are looking for percussion heavy pop - get this album. If you are looking more for a great female singer songwriter, you might want to look elsewhere. As I said before, Anne Donohue by herself would probably not even have gotten as far as this CD without the exceptional talent of Rich Dart."
