Having worked mostly with instrumental music, the songwriter, guitarist and keyboardist presents his first tunes on Anjos & Estrelas. To do so, he chose not to take chances on vocals and invited professionals to perform his songs, as opposed to quite a few songwriters who would rather take the stage. He didnt go for the big names, though, on the contrary: most of the vocalists are unknown to the public in general, but display enough amounts of competence, purpose and talent. Folegatti sings the last four tracks, Falsa Salsa pro João, Tango da Volta, Meu Anjo and A Mão. His vocal abilities are not disastrous, but the other performers surely have a better impact on the songs.

The repertoire, totally written by Folegatti, features samba (Falta de Criatividade, with Luciana Marinho), quality pop (Extensão, a duet with Patrícia Araújo), shades of reggae (Clarice, with PC) and Latin rhythms (El Tangolero, with excellent Pedro Lima, who also sings Vizinha). The lyrics incorporate elements from contemporary language, such as computer-related terms. The arrangements are simple and occasionally enhanced by the flugelhorn (on Meditação na Cidade) or the accordion (Tango da Volta), or even abusing the keyboards, sometimes, but generally the result is surprisingly pleasant for those in search of new music. - AllBrazilianMusic
