The young pianist Anika Vavi ´c won the Vienna Steinway Competition in 2001 and performed as a Rising Star in the major concert halls of the world in the 2003/04 season (Carnegie Hall, Wigmore Hall, Concertgebouw, Musikverein, Cité de la musique, and more). On her new CD she presents Beethoven's Sonata Op. 10/3, Schumann's Kreisleriana, Chopin's 3rd Ballad, and Prokofiev's waltz from War and Peace. In the accompanying notes, Vavi ´ c explains the literary inspirations for the composition of these works.
