"Very european, very nostalgic.I got two albums of Ana Maria Bobone.I like them very much. Her voice is more tender comparing with other fado singers. And her voice is so wonderful...best in the afternoon time.Highly recommended!"
Astounding music

"About this recording, Joao Paulo (piano, harpsichord, poet, composer) has this to say:

"In recent years, with recent ears, an increasing number of talented young people (vocalists and players) have been attracted to Fado and getting involved with it in many different ways. [One group is made up of] "those few who are just going their own musical way, keeping Fado in their souls, creating a kind of music that perhaps no longer deserves the label 'Fado.' 'Luz Destino' is an example of this last type.

The music in this recording takes the listener through a large sound spectrum. It ranges from Baroque sonorities to modern compositions, from traditional Fado songs to open improvisations, and yet it maintains a strong unity of sound and spirit. Actually, I believe it was best defined to me by Todd Garfinkle in a recent letter to me: 'A very intriguing statement about the modern and unique approach of four young Portuguese musicians and their respectful relationship to their musical heritage.'"

That last statement is too modest. This is really serious music, at an extremely high level. It is also ravishingly beautiful."
