Synopsis

Product Description
Following a year long break from music and with a newfound spontaneous creative surge, Amon Düül II awoke from the shadows of Herrsching s Lake Amersee in October 1974 to record Hijack in just two days of sessions. For these recordings almost all of the original line-up came together, which may be the reason why this LP is a late masterpiece and second to none of the other Amon Düül II records. Hijack is simply good from back to front. It may not be as psychedelic as their early recordings, in fact it is more rock-orientated, but this does not knock its quality. In a detailed review, written for the German music magazine Sounds , Ingeborg Schober writes this about Hijack : A new LP by Amon Düül II is always like X-mas for me. Once again the Munich freaks have presented us a wonderful record of great musical variety. This one will surely get us through another year .

Amon Düül II, the second formation of this now legendary band, are one of the earliest and best known of the German experimental (Krautrock) bands. For the complete re-issue series of the Amon Düül II catalogue, the CDs will be released as remastered deluxe editions, with enhanced booklets, featuring new liner notes and photos.

Some genius songs

(4 out of 5 stars)

"The record varies greatly in style. Side 2 is the best, being the most psychedelic. The dreamy "Liquid whisper" is worth the whole record, being one of the best songs of the seventies."
