The girl-band from Atlanta, Ga who collectively call themselves Amanda Jones, in their first offering, Voices, give the listener a unique snapshot of the female psyche...with a certain amount of innocence, but its almost a coming of age piece. Even though theyve dubbed it girlmusic its for anyone and everyone who loves a good pop song and leans toward a comfortable and appealing female voice. The songs portray a palette of emotion and scenario, ranging from falling in love, losing a good friend to suicide, spiritual connections, heartbreaks, being the casualty of gossip, self-image issues and other relationship issues and stories. The cd takes you from one to the next with a simple abandon, not too far removed from the haphazard way that youre dealt these same things in life.
