A Rock and Roll Masterpiece of LIVE proportions

"If you like Ten Years After you must have this CD. Alvin is in great form playing with intensity and clarity. Highlights include but are not limited to "Long Legs" a great Blues Love Song, Classics "Love like a Man", "I'm going Home "(perhaps the hottest version yet) and a blast from the past "Hear me Calling".The Best tune though in my humble opinon is "Help Me". Alvin makes that guitar cry. I had a chance to see Alvin and Ten Years After last month at the Hawgfest in Denver, and they blew the place away. Get this album! It is as close as you can get to being there. A "Religious" experience."

"I bought this album mostly to round out my Alvin Lee collection, but was very pleasantly surprised by how good it was. The guitar work is superb and innovative. It is much better than some of his middle-years work that seemed less inspired - an almost perfunctory blur of guitar calisthenics. The production sound is extremely good for a live album and the guitar is especially rich and crisp. Given Alvin's age, the vocals are generally strong, though the wear and tear does show through in "Hear Me Calling," whose early studio incarnation in "Stonedhenge" was far smoother and powerful. The band does well and the backup vocals add to the classic TYA sound on several cuts, though I miss the frenetic bass work of Leo Lyons in places, especially "Good Morning Little Schoolgirl." In summary, this is a great album for any rock lover, and a must-have for fans of Alvin Lee."

"This is one great live cd and it features songs from Alvin's "Nineteen Ninety Four" cd as well songs from his Ten Years After days such as "Love Like A Man", "I'm Going Home", etc. The version of "I'm Going Home" is one of the hottest I've ever heard with Alvin throwing in new guitar licks from Bill Haley's "Rock Around The Clock" something I've never heard him do in this song. Songs such as "Keep On Rockin", "I Don't Give A Damn" and the Dave Edmunds 70's hit "I Hear You Knockin", and his version of "Johnny B. Goode" absoluetly smoke. You can hear the audience's approval after every song. The sound quality is superb and really brings out that "Live" audience feel. Great Cd for those who appreciate a true showman and fantastic guitarist!"
