Synopsis

Album Description
Alton Miller grew up listening to Motown, Earth, Wind & Fire and the sounds of disco before he became involved in the house scene in Detroit & Chicago during the early 80?s. Meeting Detroit techno legend Derrick May in 1984, Miller was deeply influenced to develop his own DJ skills. Soon he became part owner of the legendary epicentre of the techno movement, The Music Institute. Once again hooking up with Derrick May, Miller became an employee of May's Transmat Records, and started touring under the moniker Aphrodisiac. The critical acclaim generated from his first release, "Dusk" (Serious Grooves), in 1993 has led to DJ appearances all over the world. Alton continued to record for some of the worlds leading house labels before releasing his debut Album on Distance entitled "Rhythm & Sound" in 2000. Fast forward to 2003 & Alton has surpassed himself with his debut album for Peacefrog. ?Stories In Bohemia? is a modern day nu-soul masterpiece packed full of deep warming strings, laidback summer grooves & heart-warming vocals that could only emanate from Detroit. Song highlights include the opening track ?Something For You?, a smooth broken beat groove with a positive lyrical message & jazzy keys. "Shine On Me" originally released on Moodymann?s limited & sought after KDJ imprint. "No Goodbyes" a down tempo Carl Craig-esque slow burner. "We Are Beautiful" a future broken beat anthem & "All To You" a 4 to the floor houser with uplifting lyrics & deep house drive. Timeless music in the age of manufactured plastic!
