CD Reviews

My first ALL disc. Good stuff.

"All's first album on Epitaph two years after the Descendents 'reunion' album 'Everything Sucks', which is a great pop/punk record(man I can't wait til the new one on FAT). 'Mass Nerder' is an awesome disc probably as good as the last Descendents album.Mass Nerder is strong release to the funny opening track 'World's on Heroin' to the amazing saddened closing track 'Silence'. Chad Price is a strong singer and has a country sound to his voice, which I think is cool. His songs that he writes are great along with Bill and Karl. Stephen co-wrote a few songs too. I can't decide which All tackles issues in politics(not so mush on this album), idiots, problems, the classic Beatle's influenced girl songs all of us love, and more! All just may be one of the best bands ever, but that's just me and I've been told I have the worst taste in music ever."
ALL's best

"Mass Nerder is my personal favorite album of ALL's, mostly because of the very catchy melodies in pretty much every single song. Chad's voice is a perfect match as well. My personal favorite songs on the albums are "I'll Get There" and "Silly Me", but every song is equally as creative and catchy. This is a definite buy for any true punk fan."
ALL achieves the almighty ALL!

"This is ALL's finest album to date. For fans who couldn't quite get into the mean attitude of their last effort (ie "Hetero") or the depressing "Black Sky," "Mass Nerder" is an album that combines the best work from "Pummel" and the Descendant's "Everything Sucks." Songs reminiscient of "Long Distance" or "Miranda" are abundant on this album, and each song is in the classic ALL style that we've come to expect. The best include "Until I Say So," "Refrain," "Silly Me" and "Vida Blue;" explosive punk-rock that keeps you tapping along. The songs are of a satisfying length in general, fast, meaningful and containing the oh-so-ALLULAR themes of ex-girlfriends, shoddy friends and contempt for slackers and yuppies. Distinctive guitar work from Stephen Egerton, riffs that remain to be successfully imitated anywhere in rock, are everywhere, and Chad Price sounds as if he really feels every song. Perhaps he does...After seeing ALL perform live and hearing their last few albums, it is clear to me that they just keep improving with time. There's hardly any punk bands that can pour this much HONEST emotion into an album and make it sound good (the closest may be Unwritten Law). Try this: compare it to the last Descendents release of the first Milo years, "ALL," and then listen to "Mass Nerder." It's the same kind of stuff, but a whole lot better, harder, more refined and memorable. Grab it while you can, play it for your metal-head or "I'm into alternative radio" friends and they will all discover what they've been missing, but what ALL fans have known all along: Everythings sucks except for ALL. Here's a tiny sample:"I can't forget your pictures that I put away I'll look at them again someday I still hold your memory close to me I've tried to share my thoughts I thought it would never happen to me."Good stuff, and so familiar to all of us nerds who can relate to the guys in ALL. A punk-rock classic, and that's all I can say."
