CD Reviews

To My Chagrin...

"...I discovered within the last week that Alisa Randolph died from breast cancer in December 2005. Indeed, she was and always will be an exceptional artist who had great potential, and was swept under the rug by mainstream R&B. She made up one-third of the before-its-time-female-80s-funk-trio, Madame X and collaborated with the still impressive and legendary producer, Bernadette Cooper. This was Alisa's only solo effort to date, and although not as risque or forward-thinking as Madame X's debut, it had cross over appeal and was worthy of ones attention.

R.I.P. Alisa Randolph...a fan of yours for life!"
Another Overlooked artist.....

"This Album may not be fantastic, but, it was good for it's time. Alisa has a powerful and soulful voice. She used to be a member of a late 80's group named Madame X (Known for their funk hit "Just That Type Of Girl"). I think if given better promotion, and better songs they may have embarked on a hit. The funky song "Guilty Of Loving You" is an underrated late 80's early 90's song that should have been released as a single. If you come across this album any where, and you're a fan of late 80's R&B then pick up this album!

"Alisa Randolph comes from the Klymaxx camp. Bernadette Cooper produced and wrote most stuff on this album. It's very good and you will be surprised about how many songs you actually know from other artists that Alisa did first :)"
