Closing the Distance; Prayers, Poems and Love Songs, contemporary arrangements of traditional and original songs from the Jewish Diaspora, is a sensual, compelling and richly rewarding new experience in world music. Along with producer, Alex de Grassi, Alisa has collected and arranged these 12 contemporary arrangements of traditional and original Hebrew and English songs from the Jewish Diaspora, flavored with lush settings of world-music instrumentation to compliment Alisa?s warm, vibrant and captivating voice. This recording marks a radical, but also natural, departure from Alisa?s contemporary personal music and a new direction for her musical and humanitarian sensibilities.

What a delightful Surprise

"Last weekend I attended a Winter concert at our local college featuring Spencer Brewer(pianist) and Alex De Grassi(guitarist) whom I really enjoy listening to. During the concert, a guest performer presented two songs to the audience. The surprisingly delightful performer was Alisa Fineman. I really found myself enjoying her music. During the intermission I purchased two of the "Closing the Distance" albums. One of them was for me, the other for my Pastor who loves the Jewish Culture.

Right now I have the CD on, and am listening to it for the first time. I am really enjoying the music. It is peaceful and meditative. Alisa has a wonderful voice for this music. I advise people to purchase this CD."
