One uneventful Sunday afternoon in early 2002, I was browsing idly in my local K-mart store. I looked down on the rack and saw a book called Easy Way To Stop Smoking by Allen Carr. My first thought was that this book had to be rubbish and I picked it up to flick through it to confirm this. However, I became very interested in what this book had to say, took it to the counter and bought it. I then went home, sat down on the lounge and read it straight through from cover to cover.
This book put my mind in a total spin and 5 years later, its still spinning. I began to realise that cigarettes gave nothing to anybody. Instead of relieving stress and anxiety, they caused it!
I wanted to help people walk away from this trap confidently and happily, once they could see clearly how the trap worked. My mind began working overtime, day and night. I had never in my life put so much thought into solving a problem.
About a year after reading such a thought provoking book, I began to write humorous, quirky poems which I hoped people would enjoy reading and at the same time help them lose the grip of addiction. Up to this time I had only ever written about 3 poems in my entire life. Now I have written over 180.
