"Hey, OK I am not going to tell you "go and get it NOW ! It's a must !" a.s.o. However, if you like so-called fusion jazz (from Marcus Miller to Jamaladeen Tacuma), I don't see ANY possibility that you don't like Alain Caron (just get the Slam the Clown sample on Amazon).By the way, you can buy any of the 3 Alain Caron solo albums if you come by them. They are all unforgettable.Note: it is a pity that Alain Caron's last masterpiece: "Play" (1997) is not referenced with Amazon. Somebody do something !"

"As far as bassists go, Alain is, in my opinion one of the foremost jazzers that has ever lived; in fact, I would put him in the company of just two others: Ray Brown and Jaco Pastorius.This album (like his other forays into the world of jazz through Uzeb, Denny Christenson, and that one wonderful CD with Jean-Marie Ecay and Didier Lockwood) is full of incredible, mind-numbing riffs and tasteful supportive playing with a very (! ) competent band.All round a delight to listen to. I agree with the previous reviewer: where is "Play"? For some equally satisfying listenings, try to follow the releases of Michel Cusson (guitar), Michel Cyr, Paul Brochu, Didier Lockwood, Stephane Grapelli, et Denny Christenson, as well as Uzeb and Sortie."

A Great Bassist With Inspiering Technique

"Alain Caron is an amazing bassist, with a great sound and frightening techincal abilities. I'll recommend bassists to find a video of his concerts, you'll learn a lot about the techinques of bass, soloing, slapping and using a 6 string bass. However, this CD is a great buy as well, because as a bassist, a CD with an amazing bassist, especially when he is the leader of his band, is always a great buy."
