CD Reviews

The best band in the world...
08/13/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"... is what they call themselves. Die Aerzte from Berlin started as a Punk band at the beginning of the eighties. They never stopped playing this punk sound, even though they became a mainstream band very soon after their debut. The lyrics are a lot of fun, politically incorrect most of the time, and mostly dealing with... well, let's call it "personal relationships". This live album from 1989 contains all of their great songs (like "El Cattivo", the song about a mean cowboy) and even a song that they were not allowed to perform on stage in Germany, because the lyrics are about an incestuous relationship between brother and sister; the point is, they just played an instrumental version, while the audience does the singing - on top of their voices."
