Interesting album

"I found this album during a search for music which sounded like the first track, "Doorway to the Heart" on the album GARDEN OF THE BELOVED by Osho Musicians. That piece, while short, is a beautiful sort of lush movement of sound that brings to mind feelings of love, peace, and compassion. I've reviewed that album here on Amazon and I recall writing that, as soon as the piece starts, one is reminded that he has "forgotten love", which might sound like a vague New Age-ish concept but it's really an ordinary thing which we tend to neglect. Perhaps "New Age" music is feared because of its apparent female-based emotions. I don't really feel that women have a copyright on loving emotions and compassionate insight, but it's fairly true that most men are incapable of recognizing that they have it in them as well.

Aeoliah's music, such as THE LIQUID LIGHT OF HEALING, is of this feminine-based emotional range. I can't say whether the super-normal claims about it (such as the DNA activation, etc) are scientifically true but it does have quite a strong effect on me. At first, I put this down to there being no acoustic instruments on the album and there being only synthesizers. Sometimes this can create a sort of otherworldly feeling by itself. That there are no acoustic instruments is only disagreeable on the track(s) which feature a synthesized tambura sample. Unfortunately this sounds rather tacky and doesn't have the lasting resonance and tonal fullness of a real tambura. That being so, it does not drag down the listening experience very much.

There's something about Aeoliah and his artwork (both the music and his paintings) that puts me off. Maybe it's because he seems to typify New Age-isms to an extreme, with vibrant paintings depicting astral realm deities and heavenly places, music that is entirely emotional based, and his own self-help book that (I've read) contains several mentions of his own musical catalog (which, to me, suggests that he may be innocently trying to cash in on the movement sometimes more than contribute to the movement and push it forwards).

The New Age genre is still in its infancy, and it resembles that. To my ears, having listened to many artists who fit the label, it has yet to properly mature. There seems to be a sort of collective healing process going on, perhaps to recover from the wounds everyone received during the drug eras of the past fifty years. If the movement matures, it will be when the musicians and artists creating the music have abandoned the current New Age lifestyle of pop Tantra, pop Buddhism, etc., and go more seriously and deeply into their own spiritual pursuits (I get the feeling that many people claim an interest in these things in the same way they would take 'feel good' pills, rather than from a sincere spiritual search) and reap the rewards. It's difficult to say how the music will change, but there are a few artists who seem to be ahead of their time. Jonathan Goldman comes to mind with a few of his works and more importantly his ideas.

All in all, interesting album. Not the best, not the worst. In fact, quite good and beneficial to creating love and compassion in the listener."

""The Liquid Light of Healing" is Aeoliah's bestEver! The most relaxing CD I have ever exPerienced; A Healing Journey like no other. It takes you places you've never been and gives you Fresh Wings to accomplish what you've only dreamed of! It creates in you a NewHeart full of Love and comPassion for yourSelf and others...a relaxing Masterfully reFreshing aWareNess of all that was, is and will forEver be. It acCelerates and inTeGrates our authentic eVolution. We become `open' to the awaiting Radiance of our BirthRight - realized. The process is made possible by our Open Hand of releasing our illusory past, and future. We gently step into the Wondrous Path and state of being that is Eternal. What an aweSome, relaxing process. We don't have to do anyThing. The music takes you there and does everyThing for you. All you have to do is `Listen and Be'... The frequency and vibration of "The Liquid Light of Healing" is full of grace, love and healing!
