CD Reviews

One of the funniest men I have ever heard
R. Kyle | USA | 06/14/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"If you heard his voice, you'd know why Adam McNaughtan calls himself the Glasgow Grackle. He is also a retired schoolteacher and one of the funniest men I have ever heard.

The opener, "Jeely Piece Song" is a protest about the urbanization of Glasgow. Prior to the skyscrapers, Moms used to fling 'pieces' (sandwiches) out the window to their waiting children for lunch. Some pretty interesting things happen to those sandwiches being thrown down 20 stories.

The ender, "Now that you're Gone" is McNaughtan's hilarious answer to a Country and Western song. The end still has me laughing even years later. Between, he's sandwiched some of the driest, funniest songs that will have you first puzzling out his accent, then laughing yourself into a better mood.
