Synopsis

Product Description
Adam Arcuragi's new 11-song album confirms his importance as one of the best songwriters today. In some ways harkening back to the origins of recorded American folk music, and in other ways continuing the lineage of
American independent rock, Arcuragi has positioned himself as a unique
and visionary voice.
On his second full-length, Arcuragi expands on the dark, sparse style of
his previous releases. Backed with layers of vocals and a rotating cast of
instrumentation, I Am Become Joy shows the full breadth of his brilliant
songwriting style. Layered with harmony vocals and embellished with pedal steel, dulcimer, accordion, trumpet, and even a singing saw, each song has a unique arrangement to complement Arcuragi s vocals and guitar.

CD Reviews

Wonderful
Amylita | Austin, TX | 11/05/2009

"I Am Become Joy has been in heavy rotation at my house and has earned a permanent place in my life soundtrack. These aren't songs that simply wash over you; they become part of you. "She Comes to Me," "People and Private Music," and "Bottom of the River" are truly joy-inspiring tracks(appropriately named indeed) that never fail to make me smile(they are just so good). This is a gift of an album from a talented songwriter."
Perfect way to spend 48 minutes of your day

"What an appropriate name for an album. I've recently taken to listening to this while at the gym. Play "She Comes to Me," "Math," and "People and Private Music" all twice through and you've just spent half an hour on the treadmill without so much as a fleeting thought of your inability to provide sufficient air to your lungs. Without fail, I elicit a few awkward stares from my fellow gym members- apparently I look really, really happy to be engaged in cardiovascular exercise. After close observation I have found that it is not customary to mouth along to your music while working out. I don't mean to, really; it's simply that I can't help it. It's just ridiculously good. Forty-eight exquisite minutes of music."
