CD Reviews

Ugh!!

"Terrible!! Take a listen for yourself. Just make sure it's a friend's copy and not one you spent your hard earned money on. I suspect the good comments were written by friends of the band, if not the band themselves"
My ears my ears!!!

"Absinthe Blind is by far the worst band to ever come out of the famed champaign-urbana music scene, there second album is no better then their first...if not worse...1 star is the minimum i could give it...i would give it worse if possible....repetative and i detect way to much of a pink floyd influence."
Somewhat psychedelic and dreamy, and fully beautiful.

"I first learned of these guys (now four guys and a girl) when I was a mood browsing through the British rock section of mp3.com. In short, I thought the description was interesting, I downloaded a few songs, and immediately became engrossed in their style and sound.
Think Tears For Fears and Simple Minds with a bit of old U2 and Pink Floyd sound mixed in.
They now have two more records, Music for Security and The Everyday Separation, which are incredible.
They mix the standard guitar, bass, drums, and single vocal, with very interesting keyboards that fit very well into the music, very beautiful guitar mixes, and a female vocalist (who is the sister is the head vocalist) who blends well with her brother.
They are getting very prolific, and now are touring the western part of the Midwest, and soon hitting the West coast.
If you are at all interested in The Verve, Tears for Fears, Simple Minds, U2, or Pink Floyd, at least give there guys a listen. They have several tunes for download at mp3.com, and I find them to be a gem!
Looking for some of that seemingly lost "shoegazer" sound from the early 90s? They definitely have some of this. Check out "Fantasy Loss" or one of my favorites, "Image.""
