"This is some of the most gorgeously crafted music I have ever come across. The lush arrangments are nested inside of just the right amount ambiance, and produces a serenity of mind I have rarely encountered. Highly recommended!"
Fantastic...

"I haven't had this CD for all that long, but it is already my all-time favorite for this type of music. I don't really know what to compare it to. I guess one could say it has elements of groups like Dark Sanctuary (but more subdued and less classical/modal), Amber Asylum (but not as `new-agy'), Nox Arcana (but much less `horror film soundtrack-ish'), Shadowfax (in their later years), etc.

I would describe it as a mixture of styles: it has elements of dark ambient/environmental, but is more musical. It has elements of dark neoclassical, but is more minimalist. It has elements of "angelic voice" type music, but goes beyond that genre. The composer has melded these influences perfectly into something all his own. It's a combination of piano, orchestra, electronica (synths), voices/choir, and environmental sounds--and the most important thing: a brilliantly musical mind.

It's dark, foreboding, mysterious, deep, peaceful and serene. If music is color, this would be subdued violet and blue hues--occasionally splashed with warmer tones. The compositions vary as you listen to the sequence of tracks. You hear dark, mysterious sounds on one song--like peering into a deep, black, cold, fog-shrouded lake. The next song gives you lighter sounds, but still dark--like watching the crimson and voilet northern lights dancing overhead on an icy cold arctic night. (Really! This stuff is so expressive, it just takes me away!) I'm sure the composer has purposely arranged the songs in this order--and it's brilliant. Especially notable is the long `descent' sequence in the middle of The Witch's Garden. And then after dwelling in the dark depths for a time, the slow ascent back up. So cool.

Sorry about all of the overly-flowery descriptors, but this stuff is just mind-boggling! So well crafted! Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. A thousand stars for this one...
