(5 out of 5 stars)

"Over the past 8 years The Cardigans have earned a reputation for classic tunes paired with seductive arrangements and flawless production. Despite what some of the less musically educated media would have you believe, the Cardigans have absolutely nothing to do with the term 'kitsch'. What has put the Cardigans into a league of their own is a combination of 3 crucial ingredients : Tore Johansson's brilliant production skills, the musical genius of tunesmith Peter Svensson, and the sonic beauty of Nina Persson's voice. And what a voice that is.

"I can buy you" is Nina's debut single, and it is the proof that the woman is more than just the world's most charming vocalist. It is the sound of a walk in a park, hand in hand with lover. "What's the use in being a millionaire if I can't have you?" says Nina. The beauty lies in the personal nature of the lyrics, a brave choice for a debut single. Nina Persson is a wealthy girl, but does that make her happy? Of course not. As in all the great songs, the sentiment is LOVE.

What makes this single an essential purchase are the b-sides. "Charlie Charlie" is a timeless melody in the tradition of a classic Cardigans or Bacharach-David number. In addition there is an alternative take on album track "Angel of Sadness", as well as a short video clip entitled "camplife". If there is one single to buy this year, this is the one!"
