Synopsis

Album Description
The third official full-length release from 7L & Esoteric: DC2: Bars Of Death will be released July 13, 2004. This album shows the maturity of the pair that has given us twelve straight years of raw Hip-Hop. 7L handles all the production save one J-Zone-produced banger and Esoteric shows why he is one of the most consistent and talented writers in the game today. The duo is supported by lyrical appearances from Army Of The Pharoahs (Vinnie Paz, Outerspace & King Syze), Demigodz (Apathy Celph-Titled, & Rise), MainFlow, & Boston vets Beyonder, KT & Uno The Prophet. Sit back, relax, and remember why you got into rap in the first place...7L & Esoteric proudly present DC2: Bars Of Death.

CD Reviews

Proceed With Caution!

(3 out of 5 stars)

"Ok, first of all, esoteric is one of the dopest mc's in hip hop today. Dangerous Connection was a solid album and The Soul Purpose, in my view, is in my top 5 hip hop cd's of all time, a classic. So when I saw this in the shops I had to pick it up. What I got was a letdown. No doubt there are glimpses of what makes 7l and esso the great duo they are, but on some of the tracks the beats arent too great and the main thing that was a letdown for me was the subject matter...thugs...murder blah blah blah,,,forgettable stuff really,,,so proceed with caution everyone!!! I for one hope they stop playin round with their pee pees and get back on track for their next album,,,everyone, go buy The Soul Purpose!!"
Another great CD from 7L & Eso

"My copy of this CD arrived just in time for my departure for a 2-3 hour trip to the beach. I listened to this CD over half of the time I was driving down, and it's awesome. With guest appearances by Outerspace, Vinnie Paz of JMT, AotP, Celph Titled and Apathy - it's got alot of flavor and feel to it. The beats are once again laid out superb by 7L and Esoteric's smooth flow fires up every track. If you are a fan of hip hop or just looking for something new to chill with, this CD is it. That is, until the next Jedi Mind Tricks CD drops later this year. ;)"
Decent album...

(4 out of 5 stars)

"When I got this album i expected a masterpiece. It's not far from it, yet it lacks some of the catchy beats that 7l & es are known for. The two took a move calming approach in their beats. You have to listen to it to really udnerstand. I love the lyrical genius of the cd (eso), yet the beats (7l) seem to be lacking a little bit. Army of the pharoes (vinny paz), celph titled and Apathy feature and do a good job. The album is good, worth picking up but if this is your first 7l and eso album I suggest listening to their older stuff before judging."
