Totally mediocre performances on all accounts. Emmanuel Krivine offers no great insight into this music, nor does he do anything particularly bizarre. The orchestra, similarly, is good, but not great, and doesn't seem to care what happens one way or the other. Denon's recording, usually a strong point, is both thick and diffuse, without the necessary clarity or impact that this music demands. Not competitive. --David Hurwitz
