"I had wanted to get this for so long, but it was out of print. Instead, got B-Boys in Occupied Mexico. That album is dope, but it's beats were just a little too scattershot (though I've learned to appreciate it alot more over time). So when this album got reprinted, I got it immeadiately.No problems with that here as Mum's the Word drops consistently dope beats for 2Mex to drop science on. Since his lyrics are always dope, having a singular sound helps keep the focus on those lyrics. Examples:Hollow Victory: "Some say that I'm an artist/others say that I'm retarded/okay I'll be a retared artist"Odyssey Honestly: "Seattle Battle/was just baby's rattle"He even knows when his fans aren't ready to hear the truth. After an anti-military rant (Marshall Law) a female fan interupts to say her brother is a Marine and 2Mex is stupid.Others items of note: dope guest spots and peep the honesty of the final track's chorus.
