CD Reviews

Live in Italy(aka Official Bootleg Vol. 3)
Dark Star-The Other One | The Bus To Never Ever Land | 06/24/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This was first released in 2003 on the band's own label Schizoid with a different cover. In 2005, the band transferred both this and Volume two to Iceni when they released Pictures Of A City. This is a wonderful performance by a great band and features many classics like A Man, A City and Court Of The Crimson King mixed in with songs like Let There Be Light and Birdman. The only complaint I have is that they cut off Formentera Lady from Sailor's Tale. The studio version of Catley's Ashes is a great way to end this classic. If you like good music, grab this."

"King Crimson was great from its inception and had a constant flow of new blood to keep them innovative and exciting. The 21st century band reunites four KC alumni in sax / flute / keyboard driven machine that plays with the vitality of their previous versions. I won't debate who adds more Mel Collins or Ian Mcdonald as they contribute to the sum of the sonic attack. Yes the live in Japan CD is more complete especially the DVD, but I will buy any reasonably priced version to keep the memories alive. Jacko has a tough job playing the role of Fripp and Greg Lake or John Wetton, but It comes together very well. Too bad the live in NYC is proced out of control. Hey when Greg and Keith Emerson die I Talk to the wind at the Nokia in NYC last week I still always hear the whole KC band. But this disc you won't be disappointed"
