Help Center - The request I made for a CD disappeared from my account page!

Search Terms:

If you requested a CD, but now cannot find the request on My Account, this means that

  • the sender declined to send you the CD, or

  • you canceled the request (perhaps in error), or

  • the system canceled the request because the sender didn't mark the CD mailed, or

  • the CD was declared Lost in the Mail by SwapaCD, or

  • you have marked the CD received (perhaps erroneously), or

  • the CD was not a CD you requested through SwapaCD.

First, look on My Account: click My Account in the toolbar at the top of the site.  Look at the different tabs there, under the Message from the Librarian.  Click the tabs to see the transactions there.  If you do not find the CD request, read on.

  • If the sender declined to send you the CD:

    • If there is no active transaction on My Account for the CD, that means there was no other copy of the CD available in the system at the time the request was canceled
      • in this case, you would have been sent an email notifying you of the cancellation
      • you would have gotten your credit and transaction fee back and the CD would have been put on your Wish List
    • You will have been sent an email notifying you of the cancellation.
    • There will be a canceled transaction for the CD in your Transaction Archive; if you mouse over the icon with the X to the left of the transaction, a box saying "Canceled by sender" will pop up.
  • If you canceled by mistake:
    • There will be a canceled transaction for the CD in your Transaction Archive; if you mouse over the icon with the X  to the left of the transaction, a box saying "Canceled by requestor" will pop up.
    • You are not sent an email for a cancellation you performed yourself.
  • If the system canceled:
    • This happens when the sender does not respond at all or does not mark the CD mailed before the deadline
    • If there is no active transaction on My Account for the CD, that means there was no other copy of the CD available in the system at the time the request was canceled
      • in this case, you would have been sent an email notifying you of the cancellation
      • you would have gotten your credit back and the CD would have been put on your Wish List
    • There will be a canceled transaction for the CD in your Transaction Archive; if you mouse over the icon with the X  to the left of the transaction, a box saying "No response from sender" will pop up
  • If the CD was declared Lost in the Mail at SwapaCD:
    • That means the CD did not arrive by the 26th day after it was marked mailed by the sender
    • In this case you would have been sent an email notifying you of this
    • You would also have gotten your credit back and the CD would have been placed on your Wish List.
    • There will be a Lost transaction for the CD in your Transaction Archive; if you mouse over the icon with the ? on it, on the left of the Transaction archive, a box saying "Lost in mail" will pop up

Of course, if you did not request this CD from another SwapaCD member, it will not appear anywhere in your SwapaCD account.
