I made the mistake of playing the CD after I marked it as received (it looked fine), and track one won't play.  I guess it's too late to get my credit back?  Or is there anything I can do?

It's too late - I've done this too.  You could PM the sender and ask them to buddy you back a credit - but they are under no obligation to do so.

Have you tried removing (or covering) the scratch yet?  Toothpaste, shaving cream, RainX, PlastX, and Pledge are few ideas.

Contact Customer Service, see http://www.swapacd.com/help/contact_us.php

It is very possible they will "resolve" the situation.

Remember, too - -that different players play differently.  This is a big question mark about SACD -- one person's player may balk at a disk that's fine on another's.  I think the prevailing wisdom is to play your CD on an actual player, not just your computer.

I agree.  I use EAC to check a disc. If it says there's a problem, then I check it by listening to be sure.  Often something that troubles EAC, is not acutally audible.
