Hello, I just found this site from PBS.com and I was wondering what the transfer fee is for? This fee does not exist for PBS. A quick search didn't turn up any results on this question.
Thanks |

It's a service fee. I belive it goes just to pay expenses of running/maintaining the site. |

A very small price to pay to keep such a great site up and running. |

pfft, it's prolly something to do with the riaa. swapadvd and PBS don't do this. |

It also goes to guarentee the transaction--something PBS at least doesn't have. If the CD shows up broken, scratched, etc--you get your fee & credit back. No dealing with the sender. Very nice. |

I have never been able to understand the explanation for this fee. What does it mean to guarantee a transaction? Delivery confirmation provides a semblance of a guaranteed transaction on both PBS and SwapaDVD. Yet, that fee is optional. |

What does it mean to guarantee a transaction? it means exactly what Kayote stated in her post: If the CD shows up broken, scratched, etc--you get your fee & credit back. No dealing with the sender. Last Edited on: 8/18/08 10:02 AM ET - Total times edited: 1 |
