"Really Alternative rock from a NJ to CA eccentric -- musician, painter, wrestling promoter. Zoogz Rift's life will make a good movie some day. In the mean time, enjoy this album, which is fairly representative of his work. Guitar, bass, drums, xylophone and occasional horns. Sometimes leaning into avant garde improvisation, sometimes just graphic and gross. "Sweet Surrender" is a standout track, real delivery, great guitar -- dropping the pretense is good for him. "Hi Mom I'm Home" is teenage the-world-hates-me angst realized.
The worst thing is that his albums are sometimes uneven. Most of this is great. "Meet Me at Stinky's" is a little corny given the rest of the CD. The CD version includes additional tracks and alternate versions compared to the LP, and a different narrative to the one recorded for "The Secret Marines Sex Kitten Beach Party"."
