"Long story short, Z.Z. Hill's adventures into music apart from conventional twelve bar blues paid off with these recordings. With arrangements and compositions by Lamont Dozier and Allen Toussaint and others, Hill hit the nail on the head. This is New Orleans,Detroit,Memphis style r & b soul at it's best and this collection is much more diverse than any of his later work. I think this cd set is out of print nevertheless, it will go down in history as Z.Z. Hill's best work."
