Synopsis

Album Description
Youth Group are one of the best-known unknown bands on the indie scene, after their cover of Alphaville's "Forever Young" became a staple on "The O.C." last spring and one of the most downloaded tracks on iTunes, while earning them a #1 single in their native Australia. This release showcases their growing songwriting ambition on tracks like "Sorry", with its intricate Smiths-like guitar interplay, while "Catch And Kill" finds the band exploring their Velvets/Stooges side. "Casino Twilight Dogs", already gold in Australia, is the album that'll solidify Youth Group's growing status in the US.

CD Reviews

One of the most surprising titles of 2007 so far.....

"
Into indie music? Casino Twilight Dogs upends recent releases by The Shins and Clap Your Hands and Say Yeah, to release one of the best records in 07' so far. While they don't exactly reinvent the indie rock music scene, CTD is easily one of the most listenable titles thus far. Well "Forever Young" is the cover song on the OC that burned up Itunes (and led me right to this CD), "On a String", "Sorry" , and "Under the Underpass" are just as catchy, meaningful, and distinctly indie to keep you coming back for more. Well a few throwaway tracks are found, The Youth Group is on track to blow up ala Death Cab For Cutie and The Arcade Fire with this beautifully haunting album. Don't sleep on it. If you are still up in the air on buying it, download their version of "Forever Young". It is easily the best yet, the perfect song that sounds modern and vintage at the same time."
