CD ReviewsDefinitely a Winner Is 05/25/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "This is pretty incredible for a 1st mainstream album, let alone for people who aren't native English speakers! If I hadn't told you though you'd never guess it...they sound as if they grew up on fish'n'chips and pikelets.
It has all of the spirit , heart, fun and catchy tunes of the Beatles' early songs with a little Byrds thrown in, but without being a hollow copy like you often see from bands in this style.It's like the best of the music of the era went into a blender, got mixed around a little, had a few extra spices thrown in and came out as a completely original modern CD. It's pretty hard to walk away from listening to this album without humming in the shower for a few days after. Overall it's lively and upbeat and definitely worth checking out. Can't wait for the next one!" |
