STILL STANDING!
Palma Gilmer | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania | 02/13/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The "Still Standing" cd is by far is one of the best gospel cd's I own. My husband and I have 2 boys in college in different states when traveling, we usually have to listen to cds unless we just want to hear country music, (I do like country music, sometimes). We pop in the Still Standing CD and time and distance seem to fly away. If you were to look into the car you would probably think we are crazy because the songs take us back to our days in the church when we were children. We are clapping and singing and praising the Lord. When we were children we probably didn't understand why the music felt so good. Now that it has a understandable meaning to us, each and every song on the album makes you fell happy that you love the lord and that the Williams Brothers give you a wonderful way to express it. You can feel the emotion in every song they sing and their love of the Lord. I play this CD often and everyone that listens to the album in my car comes out praising the Lord and ends up buying the CD. My husband and I will continue to witness to the lord thru your songs every chance we get. This album was a wonderful way to introduce us to blessed talents and testimony of these men. It has been over a year and that cd is still standing with us. We are fans for as long as God allows us. GOD BLESS! KEEP THE SONGS COMMING."

"I was first attracted by the cut with Stevie Wonder (Still Standing). But after purchasing this recording, I was pleasantly surprised at the entire CD. The Brothers stay true to their Traditional Urban Gospel routes (If the Lord Say Yes, Straiten' It Out, & Waitin' On Jesus). Don't write this off as a CD for your grandmother (not that there's anything wrong with that), but if you're looking for some jams, try the mid tempo "I'm Too Close" (with Stevie Wonder) or "In the Midst of the Storm". If that doesn't get your toes tapping, get yourself ready to be 'funktified' with "Your Love". It's a groove and a half with a catchy little hook that you will undoubtedly be singing over and over again once you've heard the CD. It took me a little while to pick up the Williams Brothers CD and I want you to know how good it is so you won't wait as long as I did. I'd write more, but I'm gonna go listen to the CD again. You should too."
THE SOUNDS OF DOWN-HOME CHURCHIN

"MELVIN AND DOUG HAS PROVEN THAT THEY ARE ONE OF THE HOTTEST QUARTETS OF THE 90'S AND THE NEW CENTURY. I LOVE HOW THE WILLIAMS BROTHERS GIVE YOU THAT TRADITIONAL CHURCH SOUND ON THIS CD INCLUDING A REDUE OF THE SONG I'M TOO CLOSE, THIS TIME THEY DID WITH THE WORLD FAMOUS STEVIE WONDER. THE WILLIAMS BROTHER ALSO HAVE THE NU CONTEMP SOUND ON THIS CD TOO. I'M LOOKING FORWARD TO SEE THEM IN CONCERT SOMEDAY."
