Piano music of the highest quality

"What a pleasure to experience this immensely satisfying cd. Watson is a brilliant composer and performer whose music spans the full range from soothing and comforting to intense and exciting. He is an "instant" piano master and his compostions are classics."
A Little Known Classic

"Burnham Woods is William Watson's second venture into the CD world. His first effort, "Fields" was so-so. This is in a different class and is vastly superior.Completely solo piano, Watson clearly has an ear for melody. The tunes are both catchy and memorable. Never one to dwell on something too long, his key changes and variations keep the listener enthralled throughout.Watson demonstrates terrific technique on the piano. Several pieces seem to a non-pianist like me to be very challenging.Favourite pieces are in abundance. The disc gets off to an impressive start with Peyote Mandolins, but really the first five tracks are all excellent. The highlight must be the title track, Burnham Woods, which is exceptionally catchy and enjoyable to listen to. Another favourite is Nothingness, which is a very beautiful track. Some of the tracks here have a Celtic feel to them.Independently released in 1999, it's a terrible shame that this CD has gone out of print. Track it down by whatever means you can. The effort will be worth it. This is a very high quality CD with some first-class piano playing to be enjoyed by anyone who likes piano music. I really do hope to hear more music of this quality from the William Watson stable; he is a definite talent and deserves a much wider audience by being signed up by a dedicated label such as Real Music. I highly recommend this CD. It is excellent from start to finish."

"A stunningly beautiful musical collection. It is, in turn, lyrical, witty, soothing, joyous, and inspiring. Watson is an accomplished composer and performer with a huge emotional and stylistic range. The whole CD is a joy to experience!"
