Shattered Atom was formed in the summer of 2005, when lead singer, Jeremy Wilford and drummer, Kelsey Drayton met through mutual friends. The two formed a musical partnership almost immediately and began writing and recording music together. Knowing that their sound was far from complete, they began auditioning guitarists. Daniel Khim emerged as the final piece to the puzzle. In November of 2005, Shattered Atom was complete.

The three musicians spent the next several months crafting their sound and began playing shows in Los Angeles in July of 2006. The ambitious sounding electro-pop rock band has grown into the name Shattered Atom, an allusion to the idea that much power can emerge from a small entity. The band is simple, unimposing, and strangely disarming. Like atoms that are shattered, their music explodes, creating a vast soundscape in which it is easy to get lost.

Their first album, entitled Why will be released on May 1, 2007.
